MODE OF STUDY
4 years full time attendance or part-time equivalent. No evening lectures are
available. First year is a common engineering year shared with all engineering
courses.

ENTRANCE REQUIREMENTS
TEE Applicants
Curtin University matriculation with selection based upon Tertiary Entrance
Score and performance in the following prerequisite subjects: Applicable
Maths, Calculus, Physics, and English. TEE Applicants must apply through
TISC.
TAFE Applicants
Associate Diploma in Civil Engineering or equivalent with average 'B' scores.
Several unit exemptions will be granted in the first year of the course.
TAFE applicants must apply through TISC.

Other Applicants
Applicants considered on merit based upon an assigned score having equivalence
to the TEE score. These applicants must apply through TISC.
ACADEMIC YEAR
The University operates on a two semester year from February to June, and July
to November. Examinations are held in June and November of each year.
PROFESSIONAL RECOGNITION
The course is fully recognised by the Institution of Engineers, Australia.
WORK EXPERIENCE
To satisfy professional requirements, students must complete at least 12 weeks
of appropriate work experience associated with engineering in industry during
their course. Students may make their own arrangements for employment or
seek assistance from Careers Services.
FIRST AID CERTIFICATE
A certificate of successful completion of an approved course in first aid,
taken at any stage during the course, is required before a degree will be
awarded.
